Nuremberg Toy Fair 2006

Um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen, viel Zeit für die eigentliche Messe hatten wir nicht; vielmehr sind wir von einem Termin zum nächsten gerannt. Auch nicht schlecht, denn die Geschehnisse hinter den Kulissen sind ohnehin viel aufschlußreicher. Trotzdem, für ein paar ausgewählte Bilder und Eindrücke hat's gereicht!

This year didn't leave much time for the trade fair itself; we tried not to make that many appointments in advance, but somehow we spent the whole day hurrying from one meeting to the next. Not too bad since what's going on behind the scenes is usually a lot more interesting anyway. However, while running through the corridors we managed to capture selected items for you!

2006 ist ein gutes und zugleich ungutes Jahr. Zum einen drängt China auf den Markt – mit Kopien von der Kopie von der Kopie; daß Performance da auf der Strecke bleibt, muß jedem einleuchten. Dann der massive Trend zum Hightech – kleine Elektronik-Helferlein ohne Ende, und man fragt sich, wo das in 20 Jahren enden wird; Programm in den Sender hochladen und auf "Start" drücken? Nicht abwegig, denn dank Hightech werden die Helis auch heute immer kleiner, billiger und einfacher zu fliegen.

Des weiteren wird an allen Ecken und Enden getunt – Alu und Carbon sind die Materialien der Wahl. Und die Welt scheint den R/C-Hubschrauber zu entdecken! 3D-Cups mit mehreren 10.000 Dollar Preisgeld und Großevents sind im kommen – und werden 2006 Realität! Dreht sich in Zukunft also vorwiegend alles ums Geld, mit Piloten als ahnungslosen Spielbällen? Mit Bangen blickt man auf die Computerspiel-Branche, die uns ein paar Jahre voraus ist, und die genau diese Entwicklung vorzeichnet ...

2006 is a good and bad year at the same time. China's coming – with copies of the copy of the copy; it goes without saying that performance falls by the wayside. Then the massive trend towards high-tech – little electronic gadgets for every purpose, and we wonder what things will be like in 20 years down the road; upload program to the Tx and press "start"? Not too far from reality, since it is because of the miniaturization of high-end technology that today the helis become smaller and smaller, evermore inexpensive and easy to fly.

The next key word is "tuning" – aluminum and carbon are the materials of choice. And the world seems to discover the R/C helicopter! 3D competitions with several 10,000 dollars prize money and big events are on the ascendancy – and will be reality in 2006! So will the future be mainly about money, and pilots merely unsuspecting playthings? With an uneasy feeling we look across the table to the computer game industry; it is a couple of years ahead of us, and the exact same thing has already happened there …

Die T12Z (Namensgebung übrigens relativ willkürlich) ist die kleine Schwester zur T14MZ. Gespart wurde hauptsächlich an der Optik, der Sender kostet .... The T12Z (no real reason for that name, BTW) is the little sister of the T14MZ. Slimmed down was ….	... daher auch (nur!) 350,- EUR weniger als die T14MZ. Der Einschub für die CF-Karte befindet sich unter der seitlichen Gummi-Abdeckung. ... mainly the optics, and thus it's cheaper by only 350.- EUR. The CF card slot is under the left-hand side rubber cover.
Die Rückansicht unterscheidet sich nur wenig von der T14MZ. Es gibt keinen Kopfhörer- und USB-Anschluß mehr. The rear view is almost identical with the T14MZ. The T12Z has no USB port and no connection for head phones.	Die FX-40 wird mittlerweile ausgeliefert; neu dagegen ist das grün-mattierte Pult, das dem Sender auch etwas seine "Wuchtigkeit" nimmt. Angenehmes Steuergefühl! The FX-40 is currently being shipped to customers in Europe. It will be available in other parts of the world in March 2006.
Einen weiteren Schritt vorwärts in Sachen LiPo-Sicherheit geht robbe: Die neuen Akkus sollen brandsicher sein. Robbe Modellsport offers new lipo battery packs with modified cells: The new material won't explode or burn.	Insider kannten das kleine Gerät schon lange: Die Stabilizer 2D und 3D halten den Heli selbständig in der Waage. Insiders have seen the little gadget before: The stabilizers 2D and 3D keep the helicopter level if you let go of the controls.
Der Trend zur elektronischen Aufrüstung war unverkennbar; HeliCommand hält das Modell sogar punktgenau in der Luft! Robbe sollte einen bequemen Stuhl dazu im Set anbieten! Electronics everywhere! HeliCommand is capable of keeping an R/C helicopter right on the spot! It would make sense to offer the device together with a comfortable chair!	Keine Lust, jedesmal die Einstellungen am Lader an den aktuellen Akku anzupassen? Ein kleiner Chip nimmt Ihnen dies künftig ab – in Verbindung mit den richtigen robbe-Ladern. Tired of selecting the correct charging program for your battery packs? A little chip will do all the work for you, at least if you use the corresponding robbe chargers.
Und ein weiterer Trend: Tuning wurde an allen Ecken und Enden großgeschrieben. Hier ein "carbonisierter" T-Rex mit 120°-Anlenkung der Taumelscheibe. Another evergreen is tuning. Pictured is a "carbonized" T-Rex with 120° eCCPM swash plate.	Der Crown III von robbe – ebenfalls in vollständig getunter Version. Schön anzusehen – aber wie fliegt's?! Immer interessant: Die neue High-Performance Blattserie von BBT – hierzu berichten wir noch ausführlicher ... J Always interesting: The new high-performance blades by BBT. We'll report in more detail in the nearer future ... J	Die neue SZ-Serie von O.S.-Motoren ist wie gewohnt bei Graupner zu finden. Neben 70 SZ und 91 SZ gibt es übrigens auch einen 91 RZ mit Heckauslaß! The OS 91 SZ-H has been around for a while. Apart from the 70 and 91 SZ there's also a 91 RZ with rear exhaust.
Auch bei MS Composit war man nicht untätig. Während bei anderen Herstellern alles kleiner wird, baut MS scheinbar immer größer. Im Bild gezeigt ein Stinger 3 Pro (Tuning!). Many manufacturers strive to expand their line of micro helicopters. Funnily, MS Composit seem to reverse that trend.	Ebenfalls bei MS am Stand zu finden: Diese auf den ersten Blick etwas merkwürdige Konstruktion. This somewhat strange-looking construction could also be found at the MS Composit booth.
Die Neuheit des Jahres 2006: Bei ProTech hat die Elektrifizierung ein Ende gefunden; statt dessen ... New item of the year 2006! We couldn't really believe it: ProTech finally put an i/c engine into their Zoom 450 IC!	... bietet man einen Verbrenner-Zoom an (Zoom 450 IC)! Eckdaten des Modells sind 800 mm Rotordurchmesser ... Main features of the model are: 800 mm rotor diameter, 900 g total weight and a .12 engine (SX-12; i.e. 2 ccm).
... und 900 g Abfluggewicht. Motor ist ein SX-12, also rund 2 ccm. Wir sind gespannt, was das gibt! We can't wait to see this model in the air! J	Der Frauen-Zoom für die Handtasche ... J Der Pocket Zoom wiegt mit 3s LiPo gerade mal 180 g und ... The Zoom for women – suits every handbag! J It is powered by 3s lipo cells and weighs a mere 180 g.
... wartet mit 340 mm Rotordurchmesser auf. Einfach niedlich – und möglich dank miniaturisiertem Hightech! Rotor diameter is 340 mm, and probably it even flies reasonably well due to miniaturized high-tech. Cute!	Das traditionelle Bild von Wolfgang Simon (Graupner) darf auch dieses Jahr nicht fehlen.
