+++ Mission: Scotland +++

This year's worldwide mission led us to the Scottish Highlands – exploring both myths and physics!

Grandiose Landschaften, Burgen, Whisky, Kälte, Regen, Kilts, Dudelsäcke, Loch Ness – all das verbindet man spontan mit Schottland. Und das ist korrekt so. Nachdem uns die Action-Missionen der letzten Jahre eher in südliche Gefilde wie Türkei, Philippinen, Sri Lanka und Ägypten geführten hatten, war das raue nordische Klima mit viel Wind, Temperaturen knapp über dem Gefrierpunkt und teils unablässigem Dauerregen schon ein harscher Kontrast. Dafür eröffnete gerade dieses Land Möglichkeiten für Heli-Action, wie man sie sonst nirgendwo auf dem Planeten findet. Für uns Grund genug, mit sechs Mann, sieben Helis und einem Haufen Kamera-Technik einmal mehr ins Flugzeug zu steigen.

Breathtaking scenery, castles, whisky, rain, kilts, bagpipes, Loch Ness – all of this one would spontaneously associate with Scotland. And rightly so. Since the helicopter missions of the past years had lead us to more southern regions like Turkey, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Egypt the harsh Nordic climate with lots of wind, low temperatures and even more rain was quite a contrast. On the other hand it was this very country which offered such unique locations and possibilities for helicopter action that we simply had to board the plane again. So with six people, seven helis and a load of camera equipment we set off for Scotland to perform a row of unusual heli stunts.
